Data center campuses increasingly land where power is available rather than where workforce housing is: greenfield corridors outside Abilene, rural Georgia, the desert edges of Phoenix. Crews on those sites are traveling trades on per diem, working long rotations. A site with hot showers holds labor that a site without them loses, and on schedules where a crew's rotation is measured in months, that difference shows up in the manpower curve.

Shower capacity on site closes the gap between the exposure control plan and what workers actually do at the end of a shift. Shower trailers consume water and generate gray water at rates far above restroom units, so service intervals are engineered to actual usage: tank pump-out, fresh water fill, interior sanitation and consumable restock on a documented schedule. Ohio and Utah deployments run winterized, with heat trace and enclosed plumbing, because a frozen shower trailer in January is a labor problem by February.
Operating data centers use shower capacity for commissioning teams on extended shifts, emergency response staging, and retrofit programs where the building was never fitted with employee showers. Units deploy without touching facility systems.

Sizing is driven by shift-change surge, not total headcount: how many workers hit the showers in the same 90 minutes. As a working figure, one stall per 10 to 12 workers in the surge window keeps queues manageable. We size from your shift structure and rotation pattern.
Units are specified for consecutive-use duty. Where surge demand is high we increase heating capacity or stall count in the plan rather than letting the fortieth worker shower cold.
